What is the Practice Center?

 

The Practice Center in the Bridgeway Learning Center (BLC) is your space to strengthen skills, get extra help, and practice without affecting your grades. 

 

Launching with Discover! Blended courses, Bridgeway’s new Adaptive Learning Practice Center gives every learner the right support at the right time. 

 

If you score below a set level on a quiz or assessment, you’ll be guided to practice activities to review, learn, and try again. The Practice Center automatically appears in your BLC menu when your course includes practice activities. 



How Practice Works 

Some lessons include activities marked as Practice Activities. Through the power of personalization and smart remediation, students receive customized practice and engaging activities that build mastery and confidence. 

 

If you see a message directing you to practice, it means your quiz score was below the set threshold (for example, 70%). You’ll work through practice before returning to your main lessons. 


When You’re Sent to Practice

When you finish a quiz or assessment and your score is below the threshold set by your teacher: 


  1. You’ll see a Practice screen showing: 
    1. The lesson title you should review. 
    2. Your quiz score and your goal score. 
    3. A shortcut to the Practice Center. 
  2. You’ll be redirected to complete at least one practice activity. 


During this time, your normal course schedule is paused until you complete the required practice. 


Once finished, you can return to your main course. 



Practice with a Purpose – Gamification!

Learning can be fun! The Practice Center includes a leaderboard and trophies to make practice more exciting:

  • Earn points for every practice activity you complete.

  • Compete with classmates on the monthly leaderboard.

    • 1st place = Gold

    • 2nd place = Silver

    • 3rd place = Bronze

  • You can edit your leaderboard name using the pencil icon.

  • You’ll see your name in bold on the leaderboard.

  • View all your achievements in My Trophy Case.



Welcome to the Practice Center

When you enter the Practice Center, you’ll be greeted by Ellie the Elephant and a welcome video explaining how practice works.

Here’s what you’ll see:

  • A collapsible Welcome section with Ellie’s video.

  • A list of your available practice activities.

  • A leaderboard showing the top scorers for the past 30 days.

  • Your Trophy Case highlighting your earned rewards.
