Since SolveIT's computer software prevents Windows updates from happening automatically, some system and driver updates will not be automatic either. We can use HP's image assistant program to bypass this and manually install updates. These are for the system's firmware and driver updates, not for Windows updates.Go to this link and download the latest version of the software. While you install it, it will open several File Explorer windows and command prompts, ignore these, the software will load on its own once it is fully installed in minutes.Once it loads, it will have the default Target be This Computer from the Reference Image from HP.com. Click on the Analyze button and let it sit for a few minutes. After it scans your PC for outdated software, it will display this in a new view. In the middle of the view, it shows you how many outdated or missing drivers you may have, click on any of the 2 numbers there.A new view will appear again, this is a list of all the outdated or missing drivers it wants you to download and install. You do not need to check off all of them. Leave HP Smart Health and System Default settings unchecked, they are not needed. Do check off the others, including the BIOS update, your list may look different than this example image. Then click the blue Download button.Another window will appear. Under the Operation section, click on the second bullet point for Download/extract/install, then click Start. Let this sit for a few minutes. Some command prompts and other windows may appear and vanish as it installs the software. Once it is finished, it will open a tab in your browser to tell you what it installed and if any failed. Restart your PC and let it run the final updates, including the BIOS updates. Do not unplug your PC or force it to shut down. This process may take 30 minutes, it is best to do this at the end of the day, or outside business hours. Once it is finished completely, it will reboot and launch Windows normally. If any software fails to install, restart it to run the other updates. then once you are back on your PC, run the Image assistant scan again, and follow the steps until it installs it.
