As part of regular system maintenance and troubleshooting, a commonly-useful task is to clear your web browser’s cache. Consult the remainder of this technical note for information on clearing the cache of the most common web browsers. Below are steps on how to clear your cache on most browsers: 


Chrome

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More.
  3. Click More tools and then Clear browsing data.
  4. In the box that appears, at the top, choose a time, like Last hour or Last 24 hours. To delete everything, select All time.
  5. Select the types of information you want to remove.
  6. Click the Clear data button.

Firefox

  1. Click the menu button and choose Options.
  2. Select the Privacy & Security panel.
  3. In the Cached Web Content section, click Clear Now.

Edge

  1. Click the Options icon  .
  2. Click the History icon  .
  3. Click the link labeled Clear all history.
  4. Check the boxes for each item you want to clear.
  5. Click the Clear button. The message "All Clear!" will appear at the top when the data has been erased.
